Increasingly, consumer electronics such as smart phones are incorporating RFID readers, expanding how RFID tags can be used as marketing tools. Near Field Communication (NFC) tags have been developed to wirelessly communicate with these new readers. NFC tags are already being used to provide consumer services and communicate product or event data, as well as for marketing, social media, and mobile payment applications.
